Description
An engaging, awesome route. Each pitch is progressively better making this one of the best climbs in Black Velvet. Begin 100' right of the start of Epinephrine.
Protection
Single 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 Camalots, Double 0.75, #1, #2, and #3 Camalots (the doubles are optional for confident Creek climbers, but you're probably gonna be glad for a second #3). Wires. A dozen draws/slings. Two ropes.
Access
The 13-mile Scenic Drive requires a timed-entry reservation October to May and has seasonal gate hours. Calico Basin and Kraft Mountain sit outside the Scenic Drive and need no reservation.
Wet rock: Aztec sandstone loses much of its strength when wet. Do not climb for at least 24 to 48 hours after rain or snowmelt, or holds break off and routes are permanently damaged.
