Description

Starts 40 feet right of the arete separating the main northwest face of Civ from the southwest face. Climb the slab to a break where a few steeper moves on huge jugs take you back to slab climbing up and left to anchors. The inconsistent face directly below the anchor can be climbed at a mellow 5.3, save for 10 feet of steep 5.8 terrain.

On the southwest face, the furthest left bolted line.

Access

The 13-mile Scenic Drive requires a timed-entry reservation October to May and has seasonal gate hours. Calico Basin and Kraft Mountain sit outside the Scenic Drive and need no reservation.

Wet rock: Aztec sandstone loses much of its strength when wet. Do not climb for at least 24 to 48 hours after rain or snowmelt, or holds break off and routes are permanently damaged.
