The hike starts at Rocky Gap Maze Parking, which takes a capable 4x4 high-clearance vehicle to reach. Without one, park at Willow Springs and walk Rocky Gap Road to that spot (about 2.7 miles, not included in this track). The route finishes at the Willow Springs trailhead, so if you drove to Rocky Gap Maze Parking you still have the road back to your vehicle.
Access
The 13-mile Scenic Drive requires a timed-entry reservation October to May and has seasonal gate hours. Calico Basin and Kraft Mountain sit outside the Scenic Drive and need no reservation.
