Two ways in. Mountain Springs Peak is a trail along the rim of the escarpment, and any vehicle can park at its start. The West Approach starts from the end of the Rainbow Springs road and needs a vehicle with slightly higher clearance to park there. If you don't have a high-clearance vehicle, use the Mountain Springs Peak trail.
Access
The 13-mile Scenic Drive requires a timed-entry reservation October to May and has seasonal gate hours. Calico Basin and Kraft Mountain sit outside the Scenic Drive and need no reservation.
