Description

Not far from Big Bad Wolf, The Fox bites your hands, swallows you, and spits you out. A couple of face moves lead to a gorgeous corner crack, starting with narrow BD 0.75 jams/liebacks and widening to pumpy fists. The crux is a wide section where a decent rest awaits if you can fight through. The upper section eases to low-angle climbing, but an optional #6 may provide peace of mind if you're gassed out. You can walk off to climber's left. As of 2024, a bolted anchor allows lowering off. Lowering with a 70m is doable though it requires the belayer to climb up. **Tie a stopper knot!**

Access

The 13-mile Scenic Drive requires a timed-entry reservation October to May and has seasonal gate hours. Calico Basin and Kraft Mountain sit outside the Scenic Drive and need no reservation.

Wet rock: Aztec sandstone loses much of its strength when wet. Do not climb for at least 24 to 48 hours after rain or snowmelt, or holds break off and routes are permanently damaged.
